About this course:

Digital Mixing Consoles is an intensive practical course designed to develop confidence and speed on professional live sound consoles. Students gain extensive hands-on experience using industry-standard digital mixers including the Midas M32, Allen & Heath SQ-5, and Yamaha DM3.
Rather than simply learning where the buttons are, this course focuses on understanding the complete workflow. Students learn how to configure and patch consoles, manage analogue and digital inputs and outputs, build efficient show files, route signals

A major focus of the course is developing fast, confident mixing skills through repeated practical exercises. Students mix a wide variety of programme material including live bands, corporate events, panel discussions, DJs, playback systems, and spoken word presentations, learning how different genres require different approaches to achieve a professional result.

Critical listening and ear training are embedded throughout the course, enabling students to recognise tonal balance, dynamics, feedback, gain structure, clarity, and overall mix quality. By the end of the course, students will understand not only how to operate a digital console, but how to produce clear consistently, musical, and professional mixes under real event conditions.

This course forms part of the Live Event Technology programme, so if you decide to continue your studies, your course fee contributes towards the next stage of your learning journey.
