About This Course

The KHDA Certificate in Live Event Technology & Production is a practical vocational programme designed to prepare learners for employment in the live events industry. The programme develops technical competence across audio, lighting, video, rigging, power, networking, communications, production management, stage management, and live show execution.

The programme places particular emphasis on stage management, production coordination, and project management for live events, alongside the technical skills required to support and deliver concerts, festivals, corporate events, exhibitions, theatre productions, and broadcast-support environments.

Learners progress from foundational operational skills in Year 1 to sound system design, stage leadership, production coordination, and live event project delivery in Year 2. The programme combines theory, hands-on workshops, signal flow training, technical presentations, live production labs, and lots of practical experience.

After the course, can I get a job?

If you're a beginner, after a 6-week course, you'll unlikely find a job. However, our live sound operator course has a 90% success rate in that almost all students who have taken it are now audio practitioners, either full-time, busy freelance, or on long-term contracts.

How much do sound engineers earn?

In the UAE and MENA, Freelance sound engineers can earn between AED500 and AED3500 per day; here's a guide for daily rates from 2024.

System Tech AED 3500+

Full-time sound engineers, depending on experience, can earn monthly
AED3000 for freshers up to 18,000 or more.

What's the difference between live sound, studio, and broadcast audio?

Live sound, studio, and broadcast audio engineering are distinct fields within the audio industry, each with unique focus and skill sets.

  1. Live Sound Engineers plan, install, tune, and mix audio at live events, adjusting sound in real-time to deliver optimal audio quality.
  2. Studio Engineers record, edit, and mix audio in studios, collaborating with artists or clients to produce high-quality sound.
  3. Broadcast Engineers handle audio for radio and TV, or streaming to ensure quality sound for live and recorded broadcasts.

How do I register for the courses?

Just fill in this inquiry form, and tell us which course you’re interested in. Students interested in work experience program must sign work experience agreement and all students sign health and safety disclaimers.

Can I have a discount?

Discounts are available at certain holidays and occasional promotions. Students enrolling 30 days before a start date can avail discounts, too. Follow socials to get updated.

What is the refund policy?

If you are to cancel the enrolled course, notice must be given at least 7 days before the course starts to get a refund (minus the admin fee of AED 300). Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days before the course starts.

If a student decides to withdraw from an ongoing course, he/she will not be eligible to receive a certificate from Skill Tech Audio even if he/she already finished 80% of the classes. Withdrawals from ongoing courses are not qualified for refunds. All discounted enrollments are not qualified for refunds.
